Miércoles, 20 de febrero. Me va a dar mucha pena acabar la serie de Harry Potter, más que nada, porque me ha acompañado en mis periplos con el inglés desde que llegué a Inglaterra. Pero por otro lado, también estoy deseando empezar otros libros, como por ejemplo, mi última adquisición: The Princess Bride de William Goldman. Seguro que todos conocéis la película, y cuando yo descubrí que había también un libro, mi gozo no pudo ser mayor.
Y un día que salí a dar una vuelta, iba pensando precisamente que me encantaría tenerlo (la primera vez que lo leí lo saqué de la biblioteca de mi pueblo, que ya me sorprendió que lo tuvieran). Así que en la primera librería que entré, en la primera estantería, y en la primera fila de libros que busqué, allí estaba. En blanco y negro, perfecto, rodeado de otros libros que han inspirado películas, con esa imagen en la portada que recuerda a una postura muy característica de Freddie Mercury. Era una señal, y a las señales hay que hacerles caso, y no lo dudé.
Ahora, estoy ansiosa por empezarlo y leer mi frase favorita: "Hola. Mi nombre es Iñigo Montoya. Tú mataste a mi padre. Prepárate a morir".
Wednesday, february 20. I'll suffer when I finish reading the Harry Potter series, mostly because it has accompanied me on my journeys with the English since I came to England. But on the other hand, I'm also looking forward to other books, such as my latest acquisition: The Princess Bride by William Goldman. Sure you all know the movie, and when I found out that there was also a book, my joy couldn't be greater.
And one day I went out for a walk, I was thinking that I'd love to have it (the first time I read it I got it from the library of my people, and I was surprised that they had it). So I entered the first book shop I saw,and in the first shelf, in the first row of books I looked, there it was. In black and white, perfect, surrounded by other books which have inspired films, with that image on the cover that resembles a very characteristic posture of Freddie Mercury. It was a sign, and we can't ignore the signals, and I didn't hesitate.
Now, I'm eager to start it, and read my favorite line: "Hello. My name is Iñigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
